THINGS WE MAKE

Circulate practices what it preaches - using waste materials to create clothing, shoes, artwork, furniture and design. Whenever we need or want to make something, we use reclaimed materials well before buying new.

Here you an view some of the ways we have creatively used waste, all of which can be custom made to order and purchased!

Circulate is also available for graphic design; for individuals, organisations and businesses who are striving to make an effort to use waste effectively. We also are able to suggest ideas and provide consultancy and design around using reclaimed resources in your business instead of buying new!

#1 - DUMPSTER HOODIES

Dumpster Hoodies are made by Circulate, using the old woollen jumpers that get dropped off at Xtreme Waste or local op shops that are too damaged to be sold as they are.

These discarded woollen jumpers are sad old things; holey, marked, shrunken, scarred, paint splattered, worn out or just plain UGLY. Their fate may have been either;
a.) landfill or
b.) to be used as garden mulch by the folks at Xtreme (which is great but takes a heck of a lot of processing and ages to break down, PLUS it sure doesnt keep a body toasty warm over winter like a hoody could!).

These woollen jumpers are collected, cleaned, de-bobbled, de-flufferised, revived and darned (where necessary) and then I add hoods, pockets and emblems, which are also made out of the offcuts of the old jumpers I have already used!

#2 - SALVAGED TESSELLATIONS

CIRCULATE's Salvaged Tessellations are made from a variety of reclaimed materials that were destined for landfill. These diamond shapes are hand cut and are made to be arranged on the wall in a tessellated formation - the beauty of them is that they are simply blu-tacked onto the surface, so they are easily changed and rearranged! These sets of diamonds can be purchased in sets of ten and upwards, and can be custom made to suit!

SALVAGED TIMBER TESSELLATIONS
Timber tessellations - made from salvaged timber...some collected from inorganic collections, some gifted offcuts from a guitar-maker, some were topsheets from timber shipments....

This salvaged timber set is 27 pieces for $130 - the timber was collected from the side of the road in an inorganic collection. This is the first set I ever made and it was all hand cut with a knife! Crazy! The diamonds are stained with paint so you can still see the wood grain.

Salvaged timber tessellations - Sets of 10 for $40 - these particular timber offcuts were collected from a guitar maker! Can be either painted densely in bright colours, sanded back slightly to give it more of a rustic look or dyed/stained.
PRICE - $50.00 for set of ten.

RETRO BOOK TESSELLATIONS
Book tessellations - old outdated encyclopedias are often thrown into the recycling as they are deemed irrelevant in this day and age... despite the amazing illustrations, photos and design!! They are so worth keeping and transforming into something new and beautiful!
Outdated Encyclopedia set that I made my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas a few years back! These sets are customsiable - you can even choose your own book or I can seek out a book of a particular theme... birds, flowers, vintage... etc
